About Me

Okay so writing about yourself is no easy task especially when you are trying to describe who you are..

Writing a blog, filming a vlog or starting a podcast is something I have wanted to do for quite a while. But why?

Well in general I feel that the best way to improve on who your are as a person is to learn from other people and through sharing stories it's a way to get the conversation going and hear other people's perspectives.

I have a few things that I am interested in and live talking about:

Strategy - This topic is something that really fascinated me. Hearing about why companies make the decisions they do, why sporting teams play the way they play or why anyone executed a plan to achieve a predetermined outcome is something I have a real passion for, it is also something I majored in when I completed my Masters recently so I love discussing different perspectives on strategy and tactics.

Triathlon - My personal passion for the past 15 years. I have completed all different distances ranging for sprint distance at my club to full Ironman, but my favourite is the 70.3 which I have completed more than 15 of across Australia, New Zealand and my personal favourite in Hawaii.

Formula 1 - I think it's my general love for sport but in particular motor racing that makes me love Formula 1, especially since it combines both an athletic performance, a team performance and an engineering element, all tied together by a team strategy that makes me tube in every fortnight at ridiculous tunes of the night to watch. It was also Formula 1 that motivated me to go on my first overseas holiday, to watch Michael Schumacher race for Ferrari in Italy and subsequently see other Grand Prix in Singapore, Hungary, Japan, Germany and of course Melbourne.

Self Improvement - If you haven't noticed already I have a real passion for self improvement whether that means improving your knowledge, learning a new skill, changing your habits or behaviours or even something as simple as doing a triathlon faster. I've always enjoyed trying to do things better myself, I guess that's partially my competitive spirit, but in my late teens I developed a passion for ready biographies and I really enjoyed understanding how other people go about things to achieve their goals, and I've just carried that on through most of my adult life and combined with a curious mind this leads to constant thoughts about how I can be a better person.

Travel - I love travel. For someone who didn't venture overseas until they were 23 you could say I was late to the party, but the experiences I had on my first journey overseas, to Europe on my own, was something I will never forget and something that taught me to appreciate that so many people live differently to the way you do and that none of them are right or wrong, but that you can learn from what others do, even if it means that you have to get out of your comfort zone a little.

So that's a little snapshot of me, I'm sure there is plenty of things I have left out, but I look forward to sharing more as it comes.

Michael
